The M25 Initiative has a robust internship program for students, recent graduates, and life-long learners with an interest in ending homelessness and poverty, to introduce them to the practical components of working in the non-profit industry.
 
The M25 Initiative is a 501c3 non-profit in Cumberland County, NJ created for the sole purpose of engaging, equipping, empowering, and mobilizing individuals and organizations to employ innovative and cooperative solutions to alleviate suffering, feed the hungry, end poverty, reduce crime, revitalize a spirit community and transform lives!
 
We are actively seeking candidates for our Summer 2018 Internship Program (June- August) and Fall 2018 (September-December).
 
EVENT MANAGEMENT INTERNSHIP
 
DESCRIPTION:
  • The M25 Initiative, a 501(c)3 organization, seeks a dynamic, self-starter interested in learning about non-profit administration, to assist with development, marketing, event planning, and communications efforts. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of non-profit administration while working for an exciting young award-winning community transformation organization.
 
TIME COMMITMENT
  • Minimum 2-3 days/week
  • Minimum 14 hrs (working remotely and/or various locations)
 
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or graduate level students, or recent college graduates
  • Preferred Majors: Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Digital Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, English, Health Studies, Social Work, Public Health, Non-profit Management, Business Administration
  • MS Office Proficiency
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Outgoing Personality with outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Interest in making a difference in the community
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities will vary from day to day, however, possibilities include the following:
  • Help plan and facilitate donated good drives and fundraisers, incorporating members and media promotion, as appropriate
  • Assist with the identification and development of member engagement opportunities
  • Create, promote, and maintain fundraising campaign
  • Research current trends within the homelessness and poverty relief fields
  • Contribute to social media and website content
  • Assist with events that may occur locally and help recruit volunteers

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT INTERNSHIP
 
DESCRIPTION:
  • The M25 Initiative, a 501(c)3 organization, seeks a dynamic, self-starter interested in learning about marketing and relationship management. The Program Management Intern will help expand the organization’s network with member/business/volunteer recruitment, engagement, participation, and communications. This internship is an excellent opportunity for a student or professional interested in gaining experience in customer relations, marketing, membership management, and non-profit organizational processes, while working for exciting young award-winning community transformation organization.
 
TIME COMMITMENT
  • 2-3 days/week
  • Minimum 14 hrs (working at our 31 N. Pearl St., Bridgeton, NJ office)
 
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • College or graduate level students, recent graduates, or professionals looking to change careers
  • MS Office Proficiency
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proactive and self-motivated, yet team-oriented
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Outgoing Personality with outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Interest in making a difference in the community
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities will vary from day to day, however, possibilities include the following:
  • Assist with recruitment efforts to expand the M25 Initiative network
  • Assist with member retention and participation campaigns
  • Assist with high volume telephone and email communications with new and existing members
  • Data entry, such as recording monetary donations and reports
  • Writing and executing social media posts
  • Managing, organizing, and executing mailings, including thank you letters and welcome kits

DESCRIPTION:
  • The M25 Initiative, 501(c)3 organization, seeks a dynamic, self-starter interested in learning about new media, also known as social media, communications. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience how social media is used in a professional, non-profit setting, while working for exciting young award-winning community transformation organization.
 
TIME COMMITMENT
  • Minimum 2-3 days/week
  • Minimum 14 hrs/week (working remotely)
 
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or graduate level students, or recent college graduates
  • Preferred Majors: Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Digital Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, English, Health Studies, Social Work, Public Health, Non-profit Management, Business Administration
  • MS Office Proficiency
  • Social Media Proficiency
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Outgoing Personality with outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Interest in learning more about social media strategy
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will work directly with the Communications Manager and Director of External Affairs. Duties and responsibilities will vary from day to day, however, possibilities include the following:
  • Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns
  • Identify and track social media coverage
  • Maintain knowledge of current events and trends within hunger relief and food waste fields
  • Assist in developing social media strategies for a variety of goals
  • Amplify website content through social media posts
  • Assist in developing, organizing, and implementing awareness and giving campaigns
  • Assist program directors with operational initiatives and member communications
  • Solid knowledge of social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat

VIDEO PRODUCTION INTERN
 
DESCRIPTION:
The M25 Initiative, 501(c)3 organization, seeks a dynamic, self-starter interested in organizational branding and recruitment marketing. This internship is an excellent opportunity to develop new and groundbreaking digital and video content that will be shared and viewed regionally. You will be producing the videos on your own, while learning a valuable skill of adhering to nonprofit branding guidelines. 
 
TIME COMMITMENT
  • Minimum 2-3 days/week
  • Minimum 14 hrs (working remotely and/or various locations)
 
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or graduate level students, or recent college graduates
  • Preferred Majors: Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Digital Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Video Production
  • MS Office Proficiency
  • Social Media Proficiency
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Outgoing Personality with outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Interest in learning more about social media strategy
  • Experience in screenwriting, video production and video editing
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects software)
  • Camera photography experience
  • Currently pursuing a marketing, journalism, creative writing, communications, or related degree from an accredited university
  • Experience in writing and visual storytelling
  • Natural storyteller who understands what your audience needs
  • Solid knowledge of social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities will vary from day to day, however, possibilities include the following:
  • Photograph and film office & recruitment events (occasionally outside of normal work hours)
  • Create & edit engaging digital and video content to showcase the organization
  • Develop and maintain a content library including photos, videos and other collateral to leverage as part of our digital strategy
